Student Affairs

Record enrollment is driving demand for Student Affairs programming.

In recent years record-setting enrollment has driven demand for the programming and services Student Affairs provides. We must continue to invest in the experiences students receive to ensure they are supported and welcomed in order to maintain and sustain our historic growth.

WELL-BEING, BELONGING AND STUDENT SUCCESS

Student success begins with connection. Student Affairs seeks to foster a campus-wide culture where every student feels welcomed, valued and supported academically, socially, emotionally and personally. Program investment in student belonging, well-being, mental health, peer mentorship, recovery resources, engagement with faculty and staff and community-building will help guarantee that every member of the College community plays a role in helping students thrive.

ACCESS TO OPPORTUNITY FUNDS

Talent is universal; opportunity is not. Student Affairs aims to ensure that circumstances beyond a student’s control, including financial resources, never limit a student’s ability to participate in transformative experiences that shape lives and careers. Support for students facing unexpected emergencies and food and housing insecurity, along with accessing internships, leadership development, financial wellness, experiential learning and career readiness programs will open doors to opportunity and position the College as a national model for student success.

CHARLESTON IMMERSION

The City of Charleston is one of the College’s greatest assets. By intentionally connecting students to the city’s culture, history, industries and community life, the College can create an educational experience unlike any other in the nation. Investments in employer relations, civic engagement, leadership development, cultural experiences and community partnerships will create a pathway where students graduate prepared to make a meaningful impact while carrying a lifelong connection to both the College and the Charleston community
